Reports released!

Today, we are releasing two reports on our overall project.

Our first comprehensive report, ‘Responding to people in mental distress,’ synthesises the whānau/citizen and police experiences. It details the research findings and recommends changes that can be made.

The second report contains a collection of whānau/citizen stories for you to read and reflect upon, separate from the synthesis created by the team.

Ngā mihi to the whānau who were willing to share their stories of police engagement to help us envisage what needs to happen.

We also acknowledge the support of police across Aotearoa who helped make this research happen and for officers on the frontline for sharing their experience of responding to mental health-related incidents.

We hope to share further summaries and other dissemination of this research soon. Thank you to everyone who supported the team in creating these reports.
